Dress Code

The dress code is Beach Formal

Cartagena is a tropical city located on the Equator, which means that the weather can get pretty hot and humid. We want everyone to be comfortable and prepared to dance the night away, so below are some recommendations for both ladies and gentlemen.

Civil Ceremony: Outdoors
Cocktail: Outdoors
Party: Reception hall (with AC)

Average Weather in June
Day: 84F – 89F
Night: 76F – 80F

Ladies

  • Long dress, or
  • Formal cocktail dress, or
  • Formal summer sundress at tea (or knee) length

Cartagena's weather is hot and humid, so we highly recommend wearing light, flowy dresses. Fabrics like organza or chiffon are the best bet for the heat. Definitely avoid silk and polyester if you want to stay fresh and dry. Light pastel colors and floral patterns are highly encouraged. Please do not wear white, and dress to impress!

Gentlemen

  • Summer suit with a long sleeve shirt with collar, or
  • Linen pants, khakis or chinos with blazer and a long sleeve shirt with collar

Ties or bow ties will class you up, but are not required. If possible, please avoid wearing black or dark suits or else you may melt. Pastel colors are highly encouraged. White or light colored linen shirts come highly recommended as they are the choicest of shirts for Cartagena-style weddings. Closed-toe shoes, no sneakers please.
